Es Cana holidays

Who is Es Cana suitable for?
Destination Es Cana is located on the east coast of Ibiza and is a great destination for family holiday, though it would also be well suited to couples and groups of friends. It boasts a number of gorgeous white sand beaches and enjoys stunning sunrises. Just 20km from Ibiza Town and a short drive from the airport, it also offers good public transport connections to other popular holiday resorts like Eularia des Riu, San Antoni and Portinatx.

Es Cana is a pleasant little resort with a good range of hotels and self-catered aparhotels. It offers a number of water sports facilities including water skiing, jet skiing and parasailing and visitors can also take ferry cruises around the coast from the harbour area. Es Cana is surrounded by a gorgeous Balearic countryside of hills, valleys and dense pine forests and is a fine destination for a hiking or mountain biking holiday. Though not as nightlife-focussed as other Ibiza resorts, Es Cana still offers a good selection of bars and music venues as well as some good shopping opportunities and fine restaurants and is a fantastic summer holiday destination as well as a lovely spot to get some winter sun.
For Singles

When: Es Cana is a great summer holiday destination with August temperatures regularly reaching above 30ºC.

Where: Es Cana has plenty for the single traveller to enjoy. There are a number of beaches around the town and there are some good facilities for those looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating break. If you're keen on meeting people during your holiday, why not check out the bars and cafes in the centre of town.

Why: Es Cana is a very pleasant place for a holiday in the summer or winter months. It is much quieter than some other parts of the island, allowing for a relaxing holiday in the sun but still has enough nightlife venues to guarantee a sociable break if that's what you're looking for.

For Groups

When: Es Cana is at its most appealing in the midsummer months when the daytime temperatures never get much below the mid twenties celsius. The carnival processions of the Saint Christopher Festival in July are well worth catching.

Why: Es Cana is a pretty and peaceful resort town with excellent public transport connections to some of the most famous nightclubs in Europe and is a fantastic destination for groups of friends.

For Couples

When: Es Cana is a gorgeous beach holiday destination from May to October. However, you might want to avoid major European school holidays when the town can fill up with family holidays.

Where: Es Cana has plenty of fun activities for couples. You might want to explore the gorgeous coastlines on a chartered sailing trip or to see some of the stunning surrounding landscapes on a hired scooter or moped.

Why: Es Cana is a beautiful little resort with idyllic stretches of sandy beach, warm sea waters and a gorgeous local countryside of pine forests and rugged valleys. It can be a great destination for a romantic getaway in both the summer and winter months.

For Families

When: Es Cana is a great destination for a family summer holiday. Mid August temperatures - when the mercury regularly climbs above 30ºC - can be a bit much for young children. Try booking a holiday in June or July instead.

Where: Children will relish the opportunity of trying out some of the water sports facilities here and will also enjoy the Acrobosc assault courses and playgrounds. Alternatively, the tourist train - which winds its way through the gorgeous countryside - is a lovely way to see some of the stunning Balearic scenery.

Why: Es Cana is much more family focussed than many of the other Ibiza resorts and is a great destination for a family holiday in the sun.

Weather Ibiza enjoys a gorgeous Mediterranean climate. The winters are mild - with daytime average temperatures between November and April hovering around the 15ºC mark. Summers are long and hot: The skies are virtually cloud free and the average temperature is in the mid twenties. By mid August, daytime temperatures are regularly reaching above 30ºC and the sea waters are very warm. There is very little rainfall during the summer months and even during the winter, rains rarely last for very long.
