Destination We Brits love Spain for lots of reasons; great beaches, scorching sunshine and cities oozing with culture. The fact that a holiday to Spain is less than three hours away is simply an added bonus. For those who want to experience a Spanish city break, then a visit to Barcelona needs to be top of your list. Full of great tapas bars, as well as lively (and sometimes weird) street art, Barcelona has an urban vibe which never fails to disappoint. Even if architecture isn’t your cup of tea, a look at the Gaudi buildings is well worth your time; the cathedral is pretty incredible.

Want to enjoy great weather, but don’t fancy living behind your home comforts? Go check out Benidorm. This resort is bursting with English speaking bars and restaurants; you will certainly get your eggs and bacon every morning. This resort is ideal for groups on a budget, or even a young family looking to get away on a stress-free summer getaway. Craving a laidback Spanish break, to forget about the day job? Head to Fuerteventura in the Canaries and enjoy a well-earned siesta on the beach. Wouldn’t it be great if they did afternoon naps in the UK, too? Well, we can dream. In the meantime, get booking your holiday in Spain with Qwerty Travel.
For Singles

When: Spain is hardly known for freezing weather, but May to September is great for the sun lovers.

Where: Fly to Madrid for some Spanish culture before catching a train south for some rest and relaxation on the golden beaches.

Why: If you’re looking for a sexy senorita or a handsome stranger, Spain is ideal for concocting a holiday romance - just remember to play it cool.

For Groups

When: May to September is when the main clubs and bars are open - get your party pants on!

Where: Magaluf in Majorca offers some of the best nightlife in Europe. Top DJs and music artists head to this party town every summer, so why not join them?

Why: Spain is close, Spanish nightlife is cheap and the sun is shining. What else could a group of holidaymakers ask for?

For Couples

When: Avoid July and August - if you don’t have kids of your own, you’re probably not going to like other peoples’ killing that romantic mood either.

Where: For a romantic city break, let Barcelona take care you. With its traditional Spanish streets, romantic restaurants and stunning coastal views you and your partner will be in couple’s bliss.

Why: The Spanish language can be just as romantic as the French. There are plenty of beaches and quaint Spanish towns to explore together. Dare you pop the question lads?

For Families

When: May until September is the best season, kids’ clubs will be running during this time, giving mum and dad some well-deserved peace and quiet.

Where: Benidorm is full of great activities that the kids will go hyper for, including the awesome Terra Mitica theme park.

Why: There are excellent beaches with shallow waters for the kids to paddle in, as well as great family activities such as water parks and crazy golf.

Weather As much as we are proud to be British, the Spanish weather trumps us every time. The hottest months are July and August where temperatures get as high as 31C, so make sure you bring the sun cream. The calm sea breeze in the coastal resorts is a life saver to stop you guys from roasting in the heat. Even in the winter months the temperature rarely drops below 10C, so you’re thermals can stay at home.

What to expectEnjoy everything this Mediterranean country throws at you. Whether it’s exploring large cities like Barcelona and Madrid or listening to tune-challenged singers at the karaoke bars in Benidorm, Spain has a place for everyone...pardon the cliché.
