Couldn't fault the complex, had everything you could want in a resort right on the beach, two sun beds and a brolly cost 6 euros a day. Choice of eateries, food selection to suit everyone. One point, not near to anywhere to walk to like shops although we were told there was a bus we could get but didn't bother. There was a beautiful jewellery shop with hand-crafted goods on site. Well worth a look.

Just enjoy a relaxing break.

The hotel was 'in the middle of nowhere and so a taxi or bus is required to leave the complex. The room was comfortable and included a fridge also plenty of storage, a table and chairs and a balcony. The complex was large but we were lucky with our location as it was close to the largest pool and the beach.

The Hotel was all inclusive but there was normally a long queue. The Food was buffet for all meals and becomes a little samey but there was plenty of choice .There was entertainment each night which varied between good and poor.

I would recommend this hotel as very good value for money and my wife and I had a very enjoyable stay

Arrived at 11pm and took two hours to check in disgusting service, booked a room with a sea view did not get, got a poky room dark and dingy no wifi!! Cleaners did not sweep floors regularly, on a not so bad note food ample and good selection unless as one of our part a vegetarian not a lot of choice ate salad the whole time.

Also because it was end of season nothing opened in nearby shops and not a lot to do outside of resort.

Entertainment was absolutely awful.

THE WORST thing no mattress covers on the beds and the flat sheets don't fit right so you end up sleeping direct on the mattress DISGUSTING!!

This was our second holiday to this hotel, the previous visit being in spring 2012. In the past year, they have built a further block of rooms and this has quite clearly put a strain on the 'old' restaurant. I'm told they have plans to address this problem.

The staff are as friendly and helpful as always - despite what they have to put up with from some fellow holidaymakers! How on earth some people can think it is totally in order to load up their plate/s at mealtimes and leave so much food un-eaten is beyond me. In addition to this, the mess that is left on some dining tables and on the floor below is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the majority of other diners. Surely their homes are not like this and therefore why should they behave like this in someone else's property. Being a hotel is no excuse!

We have only used this hotel in the spring and autumn and have regarded it as a good value all inclusive location. Food and drink is plentiful and of a perfectly acceptable standard, bearing in mind - what you pay!

Top Tip:
Don't get annoyed with the ill manners and habits of fellow holidaymakers. Try to ignore them and concentrate on enjoying your well earned holiday!

Peter Willey stayed at the Aquis Sandy Beach Resort hotel in October 2014

Stayed on a 1 week all inclusive basis. The resort felt very run down. The lift in our 3 storey accommodation block was out of service for the whole week and it seemed this was the case in many of the blocks based on feedback from other guests we spoke to. Litter was left to accumulate in many of the common areas (around pools, lounge area etc). Plate warmers in the restaurant weren't working and most of the 'hot' food dishes were barely warm.

Spent an evening in the lounge area of the reception block one night when it was raining and it was horrendous. Children banged for hours on the keys of the baby grand piano there and pleas by several guests to bar and reception staff to stop this were met with a shrug of the shoulders.

Queues for drinks was an almost constant feature as there never seemed to be enough staff to cope with demand. It was difficult to find a free, set, table in the restaurant because tables weren't cleaned and re-set quickly enough.

Maybe the hotel were running down the number of staff on duty because of the approach of the end of the season. We would not consider returning and there is no way I could recommend it to friends/family.

The hotel was not too bad, staff were very good and welcoming. The room we had (9120) needs some care and attention, Toilet bowl would have benefited from a touch of bleach! Curtains adrift from the pelmet and a quite distinctive smell of sewage generally around the centre of the complex and in the block we were accommodated in. Food was in the main tepid, unappetising and some dishes unrecognisable. Who eats carrots for breakfast? Bar and food hall staff very polite and always with a ready smile, can't fault them. Our first all inclusive experience and our last. Complex great for families as kids have free access to soft drinks and ice cream and there is plenty of entertainment for them, overall from our point of view not for us, we remain committed to self catering. However, not knocking the place but not our scene, but for the money we paid quite good value.

Check-in took a long time, but this was caused by guests in front of us taking a long time to fill in the forms.

Excellent range of food, plentiful and hot. Cheery animation staff. Very clean pools. Our only problem was lack of hot water in the shower and the need to walk to reception to report this, as telephone was not working (apparently a problem with much of the site and the responsibility of their equivalent of BT).

The technician fixed the shower the next day, having attempted to do so on the day we reported it.

Nearly the end of a long season, but the staff were all still friendly and appeared well motivated.

Very busy, but the huge number of guests were handled efficiently.

We had a nice break at the above hotel. This hotel definitely caters for families and have lots of activities for the children including an aqua park.

The food was good and varied. Staff were very friendly and always ready to help with a smile on their faces, unlike the staff one gets here!

Free WiFi which got everyone in the complex on their mobiles. We thought it was going to be a quiet, restful holiday but were very surprised to see loads of families with their children!! We chose this period because we knew that it was NOT half term in this country. Anyway, the food was good, the drink OK and the beach was nearby although they charged Euros 6 for 2 beds and a parasol. These amenities were free within the complex. Pool/Beach towels were also supplied free of charge. The room was cleaned every day.

All in all it was a good break away with glorious weather and orange sunsets. I am thinking of booking a holiday there again for my grand children in August, if the price is right.

Top Tip:
This huge holiday resort is geared mainly for families with children of all ages. The kids Club proved very popular. It is a 45 min drive to the main Corfu town. It will be a good idea to hire a car because Agios Georgios is in the south and there is not much to see around that area.

Just back from a great week at the Aquis Sandy Beach Resort.

There are three large swimming pools to choose from and no need to get up early and put your towels down to reserve a sun lounger as there is more than enough to accommodate everyone.

Plenty of choice at meal times and there sweets are superb, if you can't find something you like then you must be mega fussy. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be going back in the future.

Overall the hotel was fine.

The only things that we found that could of done with improving was the choices of food in the restaurant. We were there for a week from Tuesday to Tuesday and every night for dinner you had a choice of pork, pork and more pork.

Also the reception staff on the main desk could improve on there customer service skills.

Other members of staff were lovely.

We arrived in our hotel and was rather worried after reading some reviews on Trip Advisor, as some pictures of the rooms did not look fantastic. Our room was in block 10. And I think it was a good block to be in. Not far from the beach, pool where mainly adults were and not far from main restaurant. Room was clean and could not fault it. Also had small fridge. Food really quite nice. and a variety. Complex quite big, (to big for us as a couple.). If weather bad which it was for 3 days while we were there it was quite a walk to the reception area where most people tended to go at night as it was raining, so that was not so good. And quite a lot of puddles to wade through. But overhaul the staff seemed friendly, complex clean and tidy. We hired a car for 4 days. It was quite out of the way and Corfu town would have been a long journey on the local bus. Hotel good for families with young children as they seemed to have things to do.

If you want to go out and about I would advise you to hire a car.

David Colwill stayed at the Aquis Sandy Beach Resort hotel in October 2014

A very disappointing holiday.

The resort was located on the South West of Corfu Island at the end of a long, winding lane.

First impressions of the reception area were very impressive but then we had to find our room (1063) which proved to be a mammoth task as the signage was not too good and it ran out on the first floor of our block, when there was a second floor to be negotiated.

The room was well located with a view on the beach, as requested, and reasonably comfortable. However, the bed was two singles pushed together with an ill fitting double mattress on top which none of the bedding fitted as it was too small.

There was no pressure in the hot water tap on arrival or tea and coffee facilities as requested. Both these problems were resolved during our first afternoon after being reported to reception.

By the second morning there was no hot water at all and the lift had broken down. We were informed that the boiler had broken down and would be fixed as soon as possible.

Hot water resumed during the evening and due to it's colour provided us with an instant tan (rust). By the end of the day there was no hot water again.

We found that the TV had a child lock and the only channel available to us was BBC World Service.

It was not until our fourth day (Tuesday) during the afternoon that the lift service resumed and hot water was returned to normal.

All this time we had kept reception informed of our findings and they offered us a key to have a shower in temporary accommodation and a move, which we refused as we liked the position and view from our room.

On two nights there was professional entertainment in the Amphitheatre, an acrobatic act and a Beatles show. On other occasions the resort entertainment team provided a show which was both disappointing and amateurish for which we felt embarrassed for the performers.

The only background music within the resort was provided by electronic means and no live music at all or indeed any venues to provide for the same ie: indoor venues for dancing and listening to live music.

There were three days of rain, during which time we were compelled to stay in our room as there was no where to go - only reception which was under cover and overcrowded.

Many areas around the pools were dangerous with empty parasol holders sticking up, ready to trip over, and because the parasols were in a bad state of repair.

We reported our shower screen as being ill fitting in the room causing the bathroom to flood on our first opportunity to have hot water and a shower - nothing was done to help the situation so we helped ourselves to extra towels from the chamber maids trolley to block the area.

The resort, in our opinion, is in need of a facelift and modernisation with attention made to some indoor areas with live entertainment for dancing and wet weather programmes.

Top Tip:
A reasonable resort if you have young children who are quite happy to spend each and every day on the beach. The local 'village' is very close but does not have much to offer. The local bus service is one bus in the morning and another back in the afternoon - if you want to see the rest of the Island you will need to hire transport of go on an excursion. The best tip I can offer is to stay close to Corfu Town on the North side and the North side of the Island if you wish to experience more of the local way of life and better facilities.

We were very fortunate in that our room was in a block away from the mainstream hotel entertainments which meant that it was quiet at night. We were not disturbed by bar noise during the evenings which meant we had quite a relaxing holiday.

For those with families there was a full entertainments programme and we could see it was great for children both within the holiday village and because of close proximity to sandy beaches. The rooms were kept clean and tidy on a daily basis and the staff were always helpful.

Whilst there was plenty of food choice at breakfast and lunchtime within the Terrace Dining Room the evening meals could be a bit limited and not very hot. There again, they are mass catering and did a reasonable job throughout.

There is a small village in close proximity to the hotel and they offer a range of restaurants, as well as souvenir shops.

All in all a relaxing holiday, and I would recommend it to other travellers as a reasonable, value-for-money vacation.

Ian Raynes stayed at the Aquis Sandy Beach Resort hotel in October 2014

We booked this all inclusive hotel as it was advertised as a 4* and was near to the beach. We had 3 days of storms (unusual for this time of the year) but 4 good days of sun. During the storms water started to come in from under the patio doors on the balcony and towels had to be used to stop it. This happened in many rooms and even worse in several corridors in different accommodation blocks.

Food was OK but nothing special, breakfast was virtually the same every day and all meals were not particularly hot, even if you were the first ones in. Beach was great and yes it was right next to the hotel. For a 4* hotel we didn't expect to see chipped crockery every day, lack of spoons and drink vending machines constantly breaking down, wallpaper ripped of some walls in the main reception area. All the pools were great even if a little cold.

Plenty of loungers. 6 euros for two loungers and a parasol on the beach.

On the whole the resort was a little tired. It definitely needs a refurbishment. It is currently a good 3* resort, but never a 4*. There were several other little gripes like locks that didn't lock, sinks which didn't have a working plug hole mechanism etc.

The one outstanding thing is the STAFF - they were all brilliant. They couldn't have been more helpful.

Would we go back - probably, but only if everything was done to raise the bar back to a 4* hotel.
Ian & Sarah.

Top Tip:
Allow 60-80 mins for the actual transfer from the airport. Take some mosquito repellent, as we were bitten several times. If eating outside be prepared to be pestered by wasps. Great hotel and facilities - great room - we were on 2nd floor but we had a lift right in front of our door. The only thing we didn't like was the view from the balcony - we faced the back of the building and it was the last block (block 19) which was the furthest and it faced the ugliest building you could wish for which wasn't anything to do with the hotel - and there was a dirt valley underneath and you could just glimpse the sea to the right. You never saw anybody there so we never sat in our balcony which was sad as most of the other blocks faced the 3 swimming pools or main thoroughfare where you could see people walking.

Also at night the little walkways were not very well lit.

The bathroom was big but wasn't cleaned very well, no bath just huge shower and the interesting thing was there was a phone hanging in the bathroom, so very well catered for if you are old and infirm.

We could have done with a tea making facility tray/kettle but then the food was so plentiful all day and night - you didn't really need to. But we did miss a cuppa in the morning!!! Should have taken a flask I suppose.

Top Tip:
Avoid Block 19 if you can - it's the end of the complex and you feel a bit left out of the civilisation!!!!

Nicely set out. Good sandy beach. Nice decor. Comfy beds with mattress toppers. Needs maintenance ie on the pool tiles & the grounds. Main disappointment was the food consistently being Luke-warm at best. You see, it's not that hot at the buffet so in the short time it takes to walk back to your table it's gone cold. The choice of food is very limited to with only about 3 or 4 max of choices of main dishes. However, there are great salads & fresh fruit & lovely ice cream. Tons of wasps at this time of year. Take bug repellent. Also, room has DVD player so take DVDs - good for those unfortunate rainy days!

Oh, one more complaint. There's a nice section in the dining room supposedly for adults only but the sign is only in English & everyone ignores it, staff don't enforce it, so everyone takes their screaming kids in. It's a shame because it would be a good idea to allow couples who want to, to have a nice meal in peace.

Top Tip:
As above, tons of wasps so take bug repellant & room has a DVD player. So take DVDs as there isn't anywhere to hire them. Wish we had cos we were stuck in room for nearly 3 days during a heavy storm & not much else to do.

My husband and I went to this hotel on the 30th September for a week the staff are all great we had a very relaxing week which is what we were going for. The beach is right on the complex which I thought was the really good as we were all inclusive we took our drinks down to the beach you have to pay 6 euro for 2 beds and parasol but can leave your towels there and go back for your lunch.

In the main restaurant there is a lot to chose from. The only down fall was the pool which is very cold but as we use the beach which we prefer. Rooms are very clean and get cleaned every day.
Would recommend. We will be booking again.

We had a week here and it was our first experience of an "all-in deal". We were not sure what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were slightly jaded - the hotel was built 20 years ago - but they were very clean and we had all we needed.

The food was excellent for us as we are big veg eaters and we could not fault it. The Greek wine was as it always is - not very full bodied, but we drank as we wished and the deal was very good. We would certainly return to an Aquis resort again after this experience.

A good find!

Top Tip:
Take a travel kettle. It is a fair walk from some rooms to the dining room for a cuppa. Be prepared for a very lengthy wait at the airport for the return flight. We were collected from the hotel at 5.30pm for a 10.30 Ryanair flight. The journey takes 40 minutes by car.

We had a wonderful holiday at Sandy Beach Resort and would certainly consider staying there again if we were able to obtain a similar deal.

We have no complaints with the accommodation and the staff were very helpful and considerate.

We returned to this hotel after 2 years and was delighted with our holiday. The food was so much better than before. Staff at the pool bar were really friendly.

We were lucky enough to stay in the newly built spa hotel.

I honestly think the standard of this particular Aquis hotel is falling. Although they have made some improvements(such as slides and another pool) the maintenance on the existing property is falling behind. There were lots of loose boards which were dangerous around the pools and rooms were basically cleaned daily and not in my estimation well enough. The staff as always are superb, friendly and willing to assist, but I do feel they need to make a concerted effort on keeping standards high. Stating all this we had a lovely holiday and I would go back providing the standards slip no further.

Top Tip:
Don't expect too much and you will not be disappointed. I would use the hotel again. Food was plentiful!

"A fantastic stay at the all inclusive Aquis Sandy Beach Resort!"

The Aquis Sandy Beach in Corfu provided the perfect holiday. Going at the end of the season meant great value for money and less tourist crowds while still benefiting from some great weather. We did have some rain but in the whole the sun was out and not too hot to spend the day in Corfu Town or lounging around the pools or beach.

The large sandy beach is lovely with a nature reserve one way and just a short stroll to the nearby bars and shops in the other direction. Being the end of season many tourist shops and restaurants had closed in Corfu, and the Aquis Sandy was also probably quieter than in peak season.

The all inclusive package was great value for money with a plentiful buffet selection throughout the day, plus snacks and ice cream. Local drinks were included but no international brands. The cocktails I have to admit were not the best quality but the larger and wine were ok. The resort is very large (but completely flat) so it will take you a while to walk from reception past the pools and facilities to the beach but the landscaping is nice and none of the buildings are high rise with most being just two stories.

The coach transfer is not that long from the airport which on the narrow twisting roads is a blessing. You have to walk from the front of the hotel to the main road to catch the local busses if you want to explore Corfu Town or Kavos with a direct service running hourly between.

The rooms were spacious and clean though you could hear everything though the connecting door to the room next door. The Aquis Sandy Beach would be the perfect destination for families with younger children as they have a lot of facilities for them, from the games room, kids club and mini childrens quad bike rental to the gently sloping beach the hotel is located directly on.

In summary I would say this would make a great value for money break catering to all types of holiday maker and would highly recommend Qwerty Travels services in booking this holiday!

This is a very good family/couple's hotel rooms big and clean. The hotel has 3 large pools one with water slides with music playing in the back ground, the other two would be more for couples, peaceful and no music playing. There is a shop, bars and restaurants within a two minute walk. Food was good lots of choice. The beach is sandy. Good for wheelchair users.
