Holidays to Kos
Egyptians, Romans, Venetians, Ottomans and the Knights of St John dwelled in the port of Kos, which is the capital and main town of the island. All ended up leaving behind their mark - the wreck of the Roman baths, auditorium and centuries old castle built by the knights of St.John - making Kos a historically significant town. Kos is a fabulous city with a mixture of tradition and modernity. Nightlife is active with a good number of bars and clubs, mostly situated in the harbor area, offering sights of habitual fishing boats and sleek yachts. The major coast in the town is quite narrow and stony, with beach chairs and umbrellas. Kos town is well located to take boat trips to Turkey and other nearby islands. The town is aesthetically pleasant too, with its web of older buildings enhanced by many trees, bright fishing boats and the smart yachts of the town's wealthier visitors.
